My name is Krystal, but I also go by Kryssy. I am originally from Las Vegas but was raised in the Dallas, TX metroplex where I currently reside. I have many passions and writing is definitely one of them. I learned as a small child that dealing with life can be hard. I was in middle school when I began writing poetry after experiencing a death in the family. Writing helped me express myself in a way that I couldn’t out loud. 

Much of my poetry derived from pain but over time I began to feel just as free writing about other things. I also loved turning my poems into music and writing songs. 

I pursued journalism and quickly decided it wasn’t for me. I obtained a Radio Broadcasting Diploma and have yet to use it. I recently completed my BA in mass communication with no primary focus. 

Life’s purpose doesn’t fall out of a tree and scream “Here I am”! I have had to learn that it’s ok to not always have the answers. I am most
proud to be a mom, aunt, daughter, and one day grandmother. 

I want my story to echo in the ear of friends and family. I want my words to translate into art that is educational, purposeful, comical, vibrating, emotional, and forgiving. It is my hope that you will find enjoyment in the poetry and short stories as well as share your own.
